Life is so much better now,

since I started eating sugar-free

chocolate-covered

Santa-shaped

individually packaged

marshmallows.

Day after Xmas

at 50% off-

It’s my favorite day of the year.

I like to take seven of them

and smash them

into one giant softball

of a laxative.

I usually crawl behind the CVS

and freebase it,

but sometimes

I make it a little nest

out of fast food wrappers,

place it in a boat

fashioned from OK magazines,

and sail it

in the half-defunct fountain

centered in a once thriving

downtown square.

I think I stopped though,

and started cutting my hair

every 8 weeks instead.

And knitting socks

for future children.

The ones I make

to take care of me.

The ones I love

to nurse me.
